Musher's carry commemorative envelopes that are cancelled at the beginning of the run and again at journeys end. Collectors prize these souvenirs and proceeds help to send an Oregon Musher to the Alaska Iditarod. The stopover in Winchester Bay gives the dogs a chance to rest and is an opportunity for fans to talk to the mushers and see the teams.

Wine, Beer, Seafood, and Music Festival

On the Oregon Coast, there is a confluence: "the flowing together of two rivers or more."  Just two miles north of Reedsport the Smith and Umpqua Rivers come together at Gardiner, Oregon in Douglas County.

In this case the Confluence is a coming together of wine, beer, seafood, and music all under one roof.  Did I forget to mention good people?

Voted the best new festival in Oregon 2008, this is where many of the micro-breweries and wineries come so that you can sample their products.

This is an Evening Adult Event.  Must be over 21 yrs.

This event is quickly becoming a major event on Oregon's south coast.

Reedsport Skate Park

One of Oregon's best parks, not just because of the funnel but because it is an excellent blend of street and tranny. It has its big bowl, an element of pool, a fluid street section, and of course the funnel. Since it was first looped shortly after opening, many people from 40 years old to 15 years old have skateboarded a full loop in Reedsport's funnel. Mark Scott was first. Lance Leisher, a seventeen year old from Roseburg was second. Then Lance's 15 year old friend, Rion Linderman was third. A Virginia Beach loc, Packy Fancher, was on his west coast adventure when he made it #3. Long-time Corvallis skater Josef Lindstrom was fourth.
